I grew up a vid kid in the 80's. I liked pinball, but found that my $5/week allowance would last longer playing Pac-Man or Donkey Kong. Fast forward to 1995, and the Wild West Pinball Fest. They had AFM on the show floor, and I was immediately hooked. I left the show knowing I had to buy an AFM someday. After years of searching, I finally found my AFM. Little did I know that this was only the beginning of my pinball addiction.
I never played a pinball machine until college, which probably explains my mediocre standings at this in the season! But I'm an avid player and collector, starting my collection in 1987 with a Stern Galaxy. I'm also a CPR Artist with just one project completed so far, but my first playfield is about ready. Currently I have a collection of 24 games with 9 set up ready to go. My games range from 1940's pre-flipper up to the latest Sterns.
My obsession began at age 7, I fell in love with the artwork of Pinball machines. I now own 54 Pins, built my Dream Emporium and in 2004 started restoring classic Bally machines. The pride of my collection is my Sexy Girl (only 100 kits made in 1980) and my Big Bang Bar. I’m also currently a CPR Artist and to date have completed 17 Plastics sets & 8 Playfields. Keep Flippin’
Greg sold his baseball card collection at the age of 11, and bought his first pinball machine, a Jacks Open. Since then, he's never been without at least one.
Bruce began collecting pinball machines 20 years ago and started restoring them in 1999. To date, he has restored 25 pinball machines. My love for pinball fuels projects. My restoration process is meticulous. Sometimes I spend more than 90 hours making plastic ramps shine like glass, fixing the electronics & buffing and repainting the cabinet or playfield.

My dad got me hooked on pinball and is actually the person who told me about APPL. Growing up, we had Harlem Globetrotters, Tee'd Off, and Whitewater at separate times. I used to play a lot in the early 90's, but had been away from the game for awhile before joining APPL. I enjoy playing all the great games, old and new, among the other members' private collections and hope to have a collection of my own some day.

I grew up in Chicago playing pinball since I was 10 and have been a collector & restorer for 6 years. After owning more than almost 100 different titles and doing several dozen restorations, it was time to take the next step and make pinball repair my profession. After I complete my move up to Phoenix I will be repairing and restoring pinball machines full time as Firebird Pinball.

Hello my name is Patrick VanCott and I am a pinball addict. I’ve been involved with pinball my entire life. It all started with a Bally Night Rider and since 2004 the hobby of collecting has completely gone overboard. I have bought, sold and traded over 30 games in 5 years. My favorite pair of machines are my Black Knights. I love 90’s Bally and Williams games and started working on Gottlieb system 80’s “Go Haunted House!”
A.K.A. McNuts, I bought my first game 22 years ago still got it – Bally Wizard! I have 12 pinball games now and 4 EM’s. My favorite arcade games are my STTNG and Paragon. The one game that makes me want to break shit is F-14 Tomcat, I think they all should be ground up and turned into Dura-Flame logs.
I started playing pinball in my grandfather's basement around the age of 10. Damn if I could find that pin, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Even though I have played for 48 years, my weekly scores & standings don't reflect my passion for the game. I bought my first machine from Bruce 3 yrs ago and have a total of 5 now. I’m Iooking to expand my collection with possibly 3-4 in Mesa and 2-3 up at my place in Pinetop.
I am a software engineer for Apollo Group. Though I am fairly new to the hobby, I am definitely here to stay. I would have to say that Whirlwind and Funhouse are my two favorite machines so far, though I do not own them yet. I am also looking forward to adding TZ & IJ to our collection. My wife Lily and I are hoping to slowly build our collection over the next few years.
I bought my first game in 1983 when I was 17. It was a 1977 Williams Big Deal. I enjoy playing almost any game mid sixties and later. The APPL is a dream come true and the highlight of my month.
My affinity for pinball began when I got my first pinball machine, Bally's Mr. and Mrs. Pac-Man. Since then, it's been non-stop pinball at my house! Playing in this league, and meeting other people with the same interests has really done wonders for my pinball fever! I'm a fun and outgoing bartender who loves entertaining people at my home, and encouraging others to give pinball a try. Pinball fever is infectious, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I've been in love with pinball since I was eight and it cost a nickel to play. After serving 27 years in the Public Health Service as a Pharmacist and Hospital Administrator, I now spend my time fixing video games and pinball machines for Phoenix operators
I have been playing pinball since the age of two. My favorite games are Revenge from Mars, Getaway, Judge Dredd and Twilight Zone. There is nothing I enjoy more than beating my dad at pinball.
My name is Jerry, but my friends call me Bear. I have been a pinhead for about 35 years now am thrilled to become a part of the APPL family. As far as I am concerned, A life without pinball is no life at all!
In 1972, I first played pinball at Mount Holly’s Ski resort, MI. "Nip It" during a 1974 Florida visit. Bought "Spirit of 76" in 79 and two NIB games "AFM" and "MM" where they sat proudly next to my "Spirit of 76". Visited two WWPF shows (96 & 97) Scottsdale, two Pinball Fantasy shows (96 & 97) Vegas, one Pinball Expo (97) Chicago where I saw "No Good Gofers" on the Williams assembly line and participated in PAPA 98 Vegas.

Never interested in pinball when I was a kid. Video was my passion and found pinball to be too hard. Then about a year ago I went to Las Vegas and saw a sign that said "Pinball" in the window. I knew I had to check it out. Little did I know that the place I would walk into was the Pinball Hall of Fame. 4 hours and $10.00 later I knew I wanted to play more and haven't stopped since.

My passion for pinball started when I was eight years old. My dad had just sold his arcade business and decided to keep a Wizard! and Hot Hand pinball machine in the home. The Hot Hand wasn’t working at the time, but after tinkering around with it a bit I was able to get it working and from that point on I was hooked. I have many pinball machines on my favorites list, but my all time favorite is Pin•Bot.

I discovered my passion for pinball at 17 when a friend of mine let me stay after hours at the local arcade he worked at. By the time I managed to conquer Guns N' Roses and Fishtales I realized I was hooked! It's been a fantastic journey since then!

Having grown up more as a vid kid than a PIN kid, my first intro to pinball was in the early 90's as the Technical Manager for a Chuck E. Cheese. It was there the seed was planted as I kept the pins running. I didn't get back into pinball until 2005, where a motorcycle accident brought a choice...motorcycles or project pinball machines. Pinball won because they inflict less bodily harm. My first pins were a Cyclone & Cybernaut rescued from an untimely death at the local coin-op. Because some of the missing boards were nowhere to be found, I started designing my own, which now has become PinScore! I am up to eight pins (it's a shame to have to do a business expense to buy a pinball machine) and I hope to someday have a game room to rival Stu's!
Donnie Blattert ( Division “B” Player )
Don is new to the addiction of Pinball, with only less than 2 years under his flipper fingers. Don’s favorite pin is Cactus Canyon. In his current collection is Demolition Man, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Fire!, as he just sold his Back To The Future & Tales of The Arabian Nights. Don is now looking to add Congo and No Good Gofers to his collection. Don’s Goals for APPL is to promote pinball in a fun and positive way.

I'm completely new to the pinball scene. In 2010 I had a whim to get a 'nice pin' to complement my growing collection of video games, so I bought and restored my first pinball, an Indiana Jones (WMS). Seriously... How did I miss out on pinball for soo long!!! Goodbye Video Games, Goodbye Money, HELLLO Pinball! GAME ON!

I have been playing pinball since I was a little kid. On road trips with my parents, the motels had to have a game room with a pinball machine or else we kept moving until we found one. Turned over my first pinball machine with Bally's Playboy at a bowling alley pizza joint in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1979. From then my memory has been filled with Gorgar, Black Knight, Addams Family.....

My first pinball experience was spending a winter in New England driving back and forth to the local bowling alley to dump money in a Star Wars Data East. Then I didn’t play pinball for about 15 years because the alley got rid of Star Wars and all the arcades either went out of business or had forsaken pins altogether. Now thanks to Ebay I have my own Star Wars, and thanks to the APPL I am ready to get my pin on!
Jake Elmore ( Division “B” Player )
Always been an arcade nut, but no matter what arcade I went to, I’ve always played any pins they had. Now I’ve got my own little arcade at home and it’s mostly all pins.

My history with pinball started one flipper at a time because I wasn't big enough to fit my hands on both flippers at the same time. My first pinball machine, I have had my whole life and was recently placed on the cover of the 2011 Pinball Buyers Guide, Bally “On Beam”. Pinball for me was a combination of art, entertainment and technical innovation and it probably started me down what my current career path is today. I play more for the enjoyment and not the competition but it sure does feel good completing the game modes and getting a nice high score!
